Dream Poem

I'm running, I can't stop
I see the cliff, I tip over
I can't see the end its like a black hole
I slip, I'm falling, there is no end
My eyes tearing, I lose my breath
It felt so real, but
not yet
I woke up, so I thought
This second dream has me distraught.
The pain and emotion felt so real,
thank God it was a dream
Bombs, shootings and people screaming,
running from the cops.
Ducking and diving it was just me and my mom
She got left behind, I went to find her
No where to be found,
I took a glance to the left, and there she was,
on the ground
I fell to my knees screaming "o mother please"
"why is this happening to me?"
I went from hot to cold, I lost my soul
Tears flowing down my cheeks,
The phone rings
I woke up in my bed,
it was only a dream 
My mom was right there, beside me

Dear Poet

My name is Alia, and I have a major issue with my boyfriend.  I found out last night that he is cheating on me with my cousin.  Now I've been with him for three years and I just don't know what to do. I have been through so much with this man and he chooses my cousin of all people.  Then this home wrecker always talking about my man is cute and she wants to find her one just like mine. Literally!  I just found out she was my cousin five months ago! My mother always told me not to keep stray dogs.  I spent the whole night crying and I'm in rage.  I don't know if I should cut him and her then break up with him or leave him alone.  Then again I feel like these stupid women who would take back a cheater I just love him so much.  Please help I don't know what to do

Dear Alia,
      I can tell that this must be a very hard time for you and your judgment is clouded.  Violence is never the answer.  I understand that you have been with him for three years.  What is three years if it consists of deceit? Nothing.  Ask yourself can you trust this man.  No. When there isn't trust in a relationship its time to let go.  He doesn't deserve you if he made you feel this way.  You sound like a beautiful woman who deserves way better and you should do that for yourself.  Now your cousin that was wrong and you are family now its up to you whether you can forgive her or not.  However, that boyfriend of yours has to go.

I have been to Jamaica.  Beautiful white sandy beaches, fresh air, cool breeze and clean water.
I have been to Brooklyn. There is always a Caribbean restaurant on any block
I have been to Southside, I must say that was an experience.  Everyone knew each other people playing music at all crazy hours on the block.
